Bill M purchased this 1951 Buick Special 2 door fast back out of state and had it trailered to Long Island to be brought back to life. The Fireball Straight Eight engine ran good but was a greasy mess.
The engine and transmission were removed, transmission rebuilt, the engine was cleaned up, oil pump replaced and was also treated to an earlier “Compound Carburetor” set-up.
The firewall and chassis were cleaned up and painted.
After the engine was back in, the cloth braided 6 volt wiring was replaced with an American Autowire system along with a 1 wire alternator. This allowed the installation of an electric wiper motor and of course a decent radio.
